Organizations of additional education in St. Petersburg are transferred to a remote format of work. In connection with the worsening epidemiological situation, such an order was issued by the chief sanitary doctor of the city. Governor Alexander Beglov made appropriate changes to the decree on measures to counter the spread of coronavirus.

From January 28, 2022 to February 13, 2022, all additional general education programs, both private and public, that operate outside of schools will be transferred to a remote format. Also, state circles, sections and studios for minors will not work in person.

Children are prohibited from visiting zoos, museums, exhibitions, swimming pools, fitness centers, sports events and sections, with the exception of sports training and professional sports, as well as theaters, circuses, concert halls, cinemas, ice rinks, oceanariums, facilities intended for entertainment and leisure, attractions, as well as sports, physical culture, cultural, entertainment, congress and exhibition, solemn, leisure and other events as spectators.

It is prohibited to hold physical culture and sports events with the participation of minors (with the exception of sports events included in the calendar plans).

Other bans and restrictions are extended until March 31, 2022.

Against the backdrop of the rapid spread of “omicron” in St. Petersburg since the beginning of the year, the hospitalization of children has almost tripled, according to the city health committee. From January 3 to January 9, 93 children were brought to hospitals with coronavirus infection, next week – 126, and from January 17 to January 23 – 246 children.
