Court in Moscow finds former FSB special forces soldiers guilty of robbery and embezzlement of 136 million rubles

The Moscow Garrison Military Court today found six former fighters of the Alpha and Vympel special forces and two of their accomplices guilty of assaulting a businessman and stealing 136.5 million rubles from him. It is reported by TASS.

The court decided to recognize Alexander Karelin, Roman Obolensky, Vladimir Urusov, Dmitry Kapyshkin, Khetag Margiev, Artur Vlasov, Dmitry Chikvin and Dmitry Kazantsev as guilty under paragraphs “a” and “b” of Part 4 of Art. 162 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

So, the court sentenced Karelin to eight years in prison, Obolensky to nine years, Urusov was sentenced to nine years in prison, Kapyshkin to eight years, Margiev to 8.5 years in prison, Vlasov to 10 years, Chikvin to eight. years in prison with a fine of 300 thousand rubles. and Kazantsev – 9.5 years in prison.

In addition, the court recovered 81 million 629 thousand from six former FSB officers and two of their accomplices in favor of businessman Alexander Yumoranov as compensation for material damage.

We add that the defendants in the case were FSB Major Alexander Karelin, dismissed from the special services, Roman Obolensky, a fighter of the Alpha special forces unit, Vladimir Urusov, an employee of the Alpha special forces unit, Dmitry Kapyshkin, an employee of the Vympel special forces unit, Khetag Margiev, a senior instructor of the Alpha special forces unit, and an employee of the department ” K” FSB Artur Vlasov, an employee of the capital’s Federal Tax Service Dmitry Chikvin and unemployed Dmitry Kazantsev. The alleged customer of the attack is businessman Boris Karamatov, who illegally carried out currency conversion. Two more defendants – Nikolai Stefu and Artur Dzutsev – were put on the wanted list, the criminal case against them was separated into a separate proceeding.

The case file says that the defendants, under the guise of carrying out operational measures, attacked businessman Alexander Yumaranov, who was accompanied by four people, on the territory of Metallurg Bank and stole 136.5 million rubles from him. At the same time, at the time of the implementation of the criminal intent, the defendants, except for Chikvin and Kazantsev, were active members of the FSB.
