Petersburg activist proposed obliging cafe owners to clean sidewalks

In St. Petersburg, against the backdrop of a snowy collapse, entrepreneurs may be required to put in order the sidewalks in front of their establishments. With this proposal, the leader of the movement “Central District for a Comfortable Living Environment”, Yaroslav Kostrov, addressed the vice-governor of St. Petersburg Anatoly Poveliy. The activist shared the text of the appeal with a Rosbalt correspondent.

“I have always taken it for granted that entrepreneurs clean the sidewalks in front of their establishments. This correct and good tradition is respected by adequate owners in Europe. Already this winter, at least half of the sidewalks of the city center would look perfect. In turn, it would be possible to save budgetary funds,” the activist emphasized.

Kostrov noted that in 2010 the city court canceled several points from the Rules for cleaning, ensuring cleanliness and order in the territory of St. Petersburg, according to which the owners of non-residential premises on the ground floor of the house ensured cleanliness and order at their entrances and in front of windows.

“We made a request with a request to gather lawyers from the beautification committee, the urban planning committee, GATI, district administrations, experts, social activists and entrepreneurs. So that they discuss the return of paragraphs 4.2-4.4 from government decree No. 1334 with the transfer to today’s Improvement Rules. They can be prescribed in any of the aesthetic regulations, after all, everyone has advertising signs. Like, there is a sign – love and clean the city. As an additional rule, a crutch to the law,” Kostrov explained.

Earlier, Rosbalt wrote that the governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, whose activities in the media are associated with a snow and garbage collapse in the city, said that he was not going to leave his post.
