You can use it to confirm the identity of the client or confirm the transactions on the account, especially if these transactions seem suspicious, ”the expert noted.

At the same time, he recalled, voice recognition does not take place in a second. “It takes place during communication with a live person – with an operator who can ask different questions, so it is difficult to predict the course of the conversation in advance and prepare a sufficient amount of material,” Sedov said.

“Therefore, if you receive a call from an unknown number (and even if from a known one, it does not mean anything, because number substitution is a very simple technology), do not rush to say “Yes, Ivanov Ivan Ivanovich is listening to you,” the specialist advised. “It’s better to answer with short phrases, even an indistinct “uh-huh”, avoiding the words “yes” and “no”, and call back the bank number indicated on the official website or card.”

If scammers call in order to record the voice of the subscriber, they will in every possible way force them to answer the way they need. “For example, instead of a simple “yes”, you may be asked to answer “yes, I confirm” or “yes, I agree”. Or even fully introduce yourself first, and then say this phrase. It is permissible to say this only if you are 100% sure that you are talking with your bank, ”the expert emphasized.

According to him, in order to minimize the risks associated with fraud using an audio recording of a voice, it is necessary to connect an SMS notification for account transactions. “So, in case of unauthorized actions, you can quickly contact the bank and minimize potential damage,” Sedov summed up.
