Former US Ambassador to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) James Gilmore called for Russia to be excluded from all international organizations in the event of an escalation in the situation around Ukraine. He outlined his position in an article published in Foreign Policy magazine.

As the ex-permanent representative believes, “Russia should become an outcast among civilized countries.” “Efforts must be made to exclude Russia from all international organizations, starting with the OSCE,” Gilmour is quoted by TASS.

At the same time, he believes that the United States will have to stop funding the OSCE if the latter refuses to exclude Russia and “its satellite in the face of Belarus.”

And the day before, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, at a press conference following a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Geneva, did not rule out that Russia could take various actions to destabilize the situation in Ukraine, one of them is the overthrow of the Ukrainian government, Lenta.ru notes. .

Recall that back in November-December last year, the world media was filled with the topic of the alleged Russian invasion of Ukraine and the sanctions that should follow. According to the authors and experts of these publications, a sign of “invasion” is the concentration of Russian military equipment in the regions bordering Ukraine. Among the likely sanctions are both the shutdown of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, as well as restrictions against Russian energy companies, and the shutdown of the SWIFT system of “fast” financial settlements.

At the same time, Interfax points out, the speaker of the US House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, in a letter to her fellow congressmen, assured that she would work on the approval of the Democrats’ bill providing for sanctions against the Russian Federation in the event of an attack on Ukraine.
