National Police, Armed Forces and Municipality assure that they will deploy controls in different areas of the capital.
This Wednesday, October 20, authorities from the Armed Forces, National Police and Secretary of Security of the Municipality of Quito to define the actions to be carried out in the operations of the capital.
Cesar Zapata, DMQ Police Commander, informed that they will work on 27 points identified as chronic and in 14 areas of concentration of violence with inter-institutional operations.
The Army will focus on the gun control, the National Police will be in charge of citizen security and the Secretary of Security will take procedure with street dwellers and libadores present in the capital.
These measures are given after the decree of “state of exception due to serious internal commotion throughout the national territory ”made by the president Guillermo Lasso, on October 18, due to increased insecurity in several cities.
Since this morning there were operations in the southern sector of the city. According to information from the National Police, they have already been detained some motorcycles that were reported stolen.
According to information from the Government, there has been a increase in the rate of intentional homicides 10.62% per 100,000 inhabitants nationwide.
In social networks, several users commented that the presence of security institutions on the streets of the capital was not yet evident. However, it is expected that from tomorrow the presence of military, police and metropolitan agents be distributed throughout the city. (I)
