The Jerusalem Post: Putin refused to mediate Israel in negotiations with Ukraine

The Jerusalem Post, citing its sources, confirms that Jerusalem offered Russian President Vladimir Putin mediation in the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.

On the eve of the portal Walla reported that the initiative to hold the Russian-Ukrainian summit on the Israeli platform in the autumn at the talks with Putin in Sochi was made by Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett.

The source said that, on the eve of Bennett’s trip to Sochi in October 2021, the Ukrainian side approached him with a request to probe such a possibility, on the grounds that Israel has good relations with both Russia and Ukraine.

According to Newsru.co.il, citing The Jerusalem Post, during the negotiations, Bennett suggested that Putin hold a summit in Jerusalem, the purpose of which is to reduce tensions.
