Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will arrive in Kiev in early February, as his press secretary Ibrahim Kalyn informed the media.

As early as February 3, Erdogan is expected to meet in Kiev with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky. The signing of a “serious defense agreement” between Ukraine and Turkey is expected, Dialog.UA reports.

According to Kalyn, one of the main goals of Erdogan’s visit is an attempt to prevent the escalation of the military conflict between Ukraine and Russia.

Recall, the day before, the President of Turkey invited the Presidents of the Russian Federation and Ukraine, Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Zelensky, to his country so that they could settle mutual differences. At the same time, Erdogan doubted that Russia would decide on the “occupation” of Ukraine.

We also add that back in November-December last year, the world media was filled with the topic of the alleged Russian invasion of Ukraine and the sanctions that should follow. According to the authors and experts of these publications, a sign of “invasion” is the concentration of Russian military equipment in the regions bordering Ukraine. Among the likely sanctions are both the shutdown of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, as well as restrictions against Russian energy companies, and the shutdown of the SWIFT system of “fast” financial settlements.
