In St. Petersburg, between the bridges of Alexander Nevsky and Bolsheokhtinsky, surrounded by crows, a pair of red foxes was noticed. St. Petersburg biologist Pavel Glazkov shared the photos on social networks. According to him, foxes are clearly preparing to continue their kind, although the rut of these animals begins in mid-February.
“Before sunset, the sweet couple, curled up in lumps and cuddled up to each other, rested for an hour. And with the appearance of the first full moon this year, they minced across the ice towards Ladoga. Either Lisovin decided to show the bride the city at night, or they decided to go home to the forest – to equip a hole in which they will have to feed and raise their offspring together, ”commented the expert.
According to Glazkov, male foxes are devoted family men who, after mating, stay with their spouses and help raise their cubs.
Users in the comments sincerely rejoiced for the red-haired spouses:
“Wedding on the banks of the Neva, and further into the forest – to raise offspring. Class!”, “How romantic! This is their honeymoon trip”, “Cruise along the rivers and canals of St. Petersburg”.
Earlier, Rosbalt wrote that residents of Kupchino complain about the invasion of rodents.
