With bouquets of flowers and ammunition they threatened the mayor of El Oro and the political chief of Machala

Police personnel carry out investigations regarding the threats to the two officials.

Machala

This Tuesday, January 18, two threats were reported at the homes of the political chief of Machala, Mirtha Aristeguieta, and the Mayor of El Oro Police, Romel Aguilar, who were left bouquets of flowers with ammunition. In the first case they attached a written pamphlet.

“The competent authorities such as the Police are investigating this fact. Threats are cowardice that should not be given way,” said the governor of El Oro, Fulton Serrano, who went to verify the threats denounced by the authorities.

After noon on Tuesday the 18th, Aristeguieta’s relatives told her that at her home, on Cuarta Norte and Babahoyo streets, an unknown person had left a bouquet of flowers, two pieces of ammunition and a pamphlet that read: “Mrs. Mirtha… first and Last notice, if you love your family, leave the bars and quiet night spots (…). Your head has a price.”

The police officers carried out the investigations and, according to the first versions, it is known that a subject got out of a red car to leave the bouquet.

Videos from security systems will also be collected to identify the individual. The cantonal authority immediately filed the complaint with the Prosecutor’s Office.

A man who tried to rob a local Quito was killed

Around 3:00 p.m., the mother of the mayor of El Oro told him that a bouquet of flowers had been left for him in a bag on the doorstep of his home, located on Guayas and Novena Norte streets.

The police units arrived at the place to carry out the lifting of the indications.

The two officials have led control operations in the last two months, for which there have been closures of premises that do not comply with the provisions of the national Emergency Operations Committee (COE) in the face of the accelerated increase in cases of COVID-19. (I)
