Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has invited his Russian and Ukrainian counterparts Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Zelensky to his country so they can settle their differences. This was announced by the official representative of the Turkish leader, Ibrahim Kalin, who was quoted by the Sabah edition.

Ibrahim Kalyn also said that the Turkish leader is ready to travel to Ukraine in the coming weeks for negotiations with Vladimir Zelensky.

The Turkish President has repeatedly expressed his desire to act as an intermediary between the Russian Federation and Ukraine, relations between which have become increasingly tense in recent months. Erdogan’s initiative is explained by the fact that Turkey is trying to maintain business relations with both countries, while being a partner of the United States (which periodically threatens Ankara with new sanctions for cooperation with the Russian Federation) and a member of NATO. At the same time, the Turkish leader emphasizes that he does not consider the scenario of a hypothetical attack by the Russian Federation realistic to Ukraine, which has been discussed since the beginning of November last year by the world press and the politicians of the USA, the EU and Ukraine.
