Poklonskaya will not be ambassador to Cape Verde

Previously appointed Russian Ambassador to Cape Verde, Natalya Poklonskaya will not hold this position. It is reported by TASS.

“Why didn’t I take office? Personal circumstances have changed. I always said, I repeat: I want to be useful to our country. Therefore, I am ready for any position where I will be useful to the state,” she said.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin appointed Natalia Poklonskaya Russian Ambassador to Cape Verde. By another decree, Putin dismissed Vladimir Sokolenko from this post.

Natalya Poklonskaya was born on March 18, 1980 in the village of Mikhailovka, Perevalsky District, Voroshilovgrad Region, Ukrainian SSR (now Luhansk Region, Ukraine). In 2014, Poklonskaya served as the Prosecutor of the Republic of Crimea. In 2016, Poklonskaya wrote a letter of dismissal from her post in connection with her election to the State Duma of the Russian Federation.

Cape Verde is a small island nation in West Africa, located in the Atlantic Ocean.
