The Kremlin welcomed Turkey’s proposal to “influence Ukrainians”

The Kremlin supports the efforts of any countries to resolve the situation in Ukraine. About this, according to RIA Novosti, said the press secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov.

“If our Turkish partners can influence the Ukrainians and encourage them to fulfill the previously taken agreements <…>, this can only be welcomed, ”he said.

Earlier, the official representative of Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Ibrahim Kalin, said that the Turkish leader invited Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Zelensky to Turkey for talks. Kalyn also said that the Turkish leader is ready to travel to Ukraine in the coming weeks for talks with Volodymyr Zelensky.

The President of Turkey has repeatedly expressed his desire to act as an intermediary between the Russian Federation and Ukraine.

At the beginning of the year, US President Joe Biden had a telephone conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky, assuring that Washington and its allies would give a “strong response” in the event of Russia’s “invasion” of Ukraine.
