US Ambassador to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield said that Washington is concerned about the military exercises of Russia and Belarus. She spoke about this in an interview with The Washington Post, reports RIA Novosti.
The United States is also expressing concern about Russia’s military buildup on the border with Ukraine, she said. The American diplomat noted that all this signals to Washington that Moscow is aggressive towards Kiev. “This is not just one action, it is an accumulation of actions and the intensity of actions,” she stressed.
Earlier, White House press secretary Jen Psaki announced a possible Russian attack on Ukraine “at any moment.” As Psaki said, the US position is that Russia has two paths: diplomatic and “other”. “Russia itself will have to determine which path it will take, and the consequences will be serious if they do not follow the path of diplomacy,” she warned, adding that the US did not yet rule out any action against Moscow.
