A new ministerial cabinet member has tested positive for COVID-19. The head of the Ministry of Economic and Social Inclusion (MIES), Esteban Bernal, confirmed that he has COVID-19.
The official said that after presenting mild symptoms, he has tested positive. “For almost 2 years, I managed to get around the virus; however, this time it was unavoidable, although the successful vaccination will allow a very strong booster…” Bernal said on his Twitter account.
Bernal indicated that he will continue to work virtually until he can be reincorporated in person.
Vice President Alfredo Borrero tested positive for COVID-19
Days ago, the Vice President of the Republic, Alfredo Borrero, tested positive for COVID-19. The news was confirmed by the Vice Presidency, around 11:00 p.m. on January 5, 2021.
Through a short statement it was reported that this same day the result was known and that Borrero has mild symptoms.
