The Oktyabrsky District Court of St. Petersburg has blocked a video on YouTube in which musician Marilyn Manson tears pages out of the Bible. The corresponding decision is posted on the website of the court.

The video was a teaser for the title track of the Say10 album, which the musician released in early 2017. Director Tyler Shields filmed American show rocker Marilyn Manson sitting on a throne and tearing pages out of the Bible.

Manson himself explained to The Daily Beast five years ago that in this way he expressed his attitude towards the elections in the country.

“It’s about the desperate deeds of people who believe in something that is preached by non-believers.

Now we are in such a state of confusion when it comes to religion, politics, sexuality, they all get tied together, and it turns into a circus, ”the artist is quoted in the press.

So deep into the context of what happened a few years ago did not dive the prosecutor of the Admiralteisky district of the city, who filed the claim.

The court ruling notes that in the footage of the video, “an unknown person destroys an object of religious veneration – the Bible.” The court decided that the religious feelings of believers were intended to offend, and these actions express “clear disrespect for society.”

The YouTube video has been removed.
