Six Dominicans were arrested in Naranjal in a drug collection center

Six jute sacks with 185 blocks of cocaine were found at the scene. The foreigners were armed.

Six men, all from the Dominican Republic, were arrested on Sunday, January 16, in an area known as Primero de Mayo, in Naranjal, Guayas province.

There, from 07:00, the Anti-narcotics Operation called Pacífico-Impacto 14 was carried out, where a building that was used as a collection center for illicit substances was raided.

In an underground cove next to said building, six jute bags were found with 185 rectangular packages covered with brown packing tape and with a “butterfly” logo, which contained cocaine weighing 208 kilos.

The six foreigners were arrested at the scene and 3 firearms (two pistols and a submachine gun), 71 cartridges and a communication radio were found.

The detainees were identified as Juan Manuel AP, 52 years old; Miguel GC, 48; Álvaro Luis MT, 24; Jordi Alfredo R., 21; Jose Luis GG, 38; and Edward MB, 34 years old.

The State Attorney General’s Office reported through its Twitter account that charges would be filed against those arrested in the next few hours. (I)
