The number of bankruptcies of individual entrepreneurs and ordinary residents in Russia has increased dramatically over the past year, with new records set by Transbaikalia and Altai, Taiga.Info reports, citing data from the Federal Register of Legally Relevant Information.

As, in particular, the portal notes, in Siberia, the “worst situation” is observed “in the Trans-Baikal Territory, where the figure for the year increased by 167%”, in the Altai Territory – by 112.3%, in the Altai Republic – by 64.8%.

In general, according to the results of last year, over 192 thousand Russians, including individual entrepreneurs, were declared bankrupt (an increase of 62% compared to the previous year), and since October 1, 2015, more than 475 thousand citizens have become bankrupt.

We also recall that back on October 27, 2021, the head of the Council of Judges of Russia, Viktor Momotov, warned that the “astronomical debts” of Russian citizens on loans threaten mass bankruptcy of borrowers and social tension. He stated this at a meeting of the D. N. Zamyatnin Club.
