The victim is 48-year-old owner of a local construction company Elena Volovoeva. A few months ago, she fired her former lover, 47-year-old Dmitry Valkov, from the sawmill and refused to take him back to work. According to the woman, Valkov constantly complained that he could not find a new job. At the sawmill, he worked as a manager, but over time he “scored” on his duties, Volovoeva noted. She fired the gentleman several times “both from work and from her life,” but he always found a way to return.

The last time, last summer, he failed to return. Although he repeatedly asked Volovoeva to take him back and even expressed his willingness to work for free. When he was refused, Valkov began to take revenge, including setting fire to the sawmill. An outbuilding, a canopy, part of the fence and building materials worth 2.5 million rubles burned down.

Valkov was detained, he confessed to arson to the police, but he was released. Soon after that, he came to the courtyard of the house where Volovoyeva lives and doused her car with acid. He himself denies everything and says that Volovoeva was engaged in money laundering and tried to transfer the business to her daughter.
