Former Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov considers a real threat of military confrontation after Russia’s failed consultations with the United States and NATO.

“Diplomatic efforts to resolve the crisis created by the Kremlin have ended. The Russian authorities received a complete rejection of the ultimatum. Now the Foreign Ministry is demanding a written response and voicing threats to deploy military forces in Latin America. We are waiting for an increase in spending on a military-technical response and calls for rallying, ”Kasyanov writes in Twitter.

“Clearly, there will be no more negotiations. The situation did not go according to plan. Judging by the growing aggressiveness of the rhetoric of the Russian authorities, they are raising the stakes. Ambitions are overwhelming, they can break. The threat of war has emerged. There will probably be provocations. The main thing is that Ukraine does not succumb to a provocation, ”said the ex-prime minister of the Russian Federation.

Earlier, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergei Ryabkov noted that the United States and its NATO allies are not ready to meet Russia halfway on key requirements in matters of security guarantees. Thus, he added, Moscow sees no grounds for holding a new round of negotiations with the United States on security guarantees in the near future.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov also stated the disappointing results of negotiations with the United States and NATO and said that “patience has come to an end”, Russia “categorically does not accept” the appearance of NATO on its borders and is ready for any scenarios in connection with the threat of sanctions prepared by the United States in case invasion of Ukraine. US demands to withdraw troops from the Ukrainian border Lavrov called “absurd.”
