The head of Rospotrebnadzor promised that children will not be transferred to remote work yet

The Omicron strain of coronavirus also largely affects children, but if all preventive rules are observed, it will be possible to maintain the current mode of education in schools. About this, according to RIA Novosti, said the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova.

According to her, the recommendations for preventing the spread of coronavirus, which were previously prepared by Rospotrebnadzor, are working and allow children to go to school and kindergartens. Their observance will allow maintaining the current mode of education in schools without transferring children to distance learning.

Earlier on Friday, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova expressed confidence that the Omicron strain would soon replace the Delta strain, which is still dominant in the Russian Federation.

In Moscow, it was Omicron that was detected in more than half of those who fell ill with covid in recent days in Moscow.

Experts note that the infectivity of “omicron” is several times higher than the infectivity of the “delta” strain. Experts also note that children are increasingly getting sick with coronavirus.

Allergist-immunologist Vladimir Bolibok said that children are seriously ill – with high fever, damage to the upper respiratory tract and gastrointestinal tract.

Bolibok urged the Russian authorities to prepare the healthcare system for the reception of small patients, since, in his opinion, today the pediatric service is not quite ready for a large number of hospitalizations. Therefore, according to the doctor, it is necessary to provide for the possibility of converting some of the adult covid departments into children’s ones. This requires appropriate equipment – children’s masks, small tubes, etc. It is also important to provide for the possibility of parental accompaniment of small patients. At the same time, there is little time left for the re-profiling of hospitals.
