Boris Gryzlov appointed new Russian ambassador to Belarus

Boris Gryzlov has been appointed Russia’s new ambassador to the Republic of Belarus, according to a decree signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The relevant document is posted on the official portal of legal information.

Recall that earlier the Belarusian Foreign Ministry agreed on the candidacy of the chairman of the Supreme Council of the United Russia party Boris Gryzlov for the post of Russian ambassador to Belarus, Sputnik Belarus reported, citing its sources.

Boris Gryzlov is Chairman of the Supreme Council of the United Russia Party, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Russian Federation in the Contact Group for Settling the Situation in Ukraine.

From March 2001 to December 2003 he was Minister of the Interior of the Russian Federation. From March 2001 to April 2016, he was a permanent member of the Russian Security Council. Since 2002 – Chairman of the Supreme Council of the United Russia party.
