The former head of the department for religious affairs under the head of Ingushetia, Yahya Khadziev, had to apologize twice – first to his teip, then to the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov.
The scandal erupted after Khadziev warmly greeted Kadyrov at a wedding in Grozny. This gesture was received negatively in Ingushetia. As a result, Khadziev had to apologize to his teip: “I did wrong by greeting and hugging him. Forgive me for the sake of God. I had no idea that it would be so unpleasant for you.”
However, this, in turn, aroused the anger of the head of Chechnya, who spoke with insults and threats against his ill-wishers from Ingushetia. He demanded to openly express claims against him, giving him three days. At the same time, if the Ingush people do not bring charges against him, he will question those who are trying to denigrate his honor, Kadyrov added.
As a result, Khadziev apologized to the head of Chechnya, recording a video message in his native language. A commentary on the video on his Instagram page reads: “The former head of the department for religious affairs under the head of Ingushetia, Yahya Khadziev, apologized to the Republic of Ramzan Kadyrov and the Chechen people for his resonant statement made after a trip to Grozny for a wedding celebration, which was also attended by Ramzan Kadyrov. Khadziev declares that he admits his guilt and separately asks for forgiveness from the head of the Chechen Republic.
Relations between the authorities of Chechnya and the inhabitants of Ingushetia escalated after the delimitation of the administrative borders of the republics. Mass protests were held in Magas. Earlier, Kadyrov threatened to take “remaining villages” from Ingushetia if allegations of illegal division of territories did not stop. “I am now addressing those provocateurs. I have taken your land, because I do not consider you to be people and men. And I will take the rest of the villages, because you will not calm down until I do this,” Kadyrov said, and also called on the provocateurs to “shut their mouths.”
