Everyone will be ill with Omicron”: Dr. Myasnikov called for a review of tactics in the fight against coronavirus

TV presenter and head physician of Moscow Hospital No. 71 Alexander Myasnikov, against the backdrop of an increase in the number of cases of covid in Russia due to the spread of the Omicron strain, suggested revising the strategy and tactics of combating the disease.

“What worked in the first waves will not work with Omicron. In the context of the spread of the virus by a million people a day, as in the United States, for example, one must realize that almost everyone will suffer the infection – both unvaccinated and vaccinated, ”the doctor wrote in his Telegram channel.

According to him, the vaccine will protect against a severe course of the disease, but not against acute respiratory infections caused by “omicron”. In this regard, Myasnikov is asked the question of the expediency of restrictions on the “omicron” wave. “To bring people to psychosis with reports about “hundreds of thousands of sick people a day”?! Or will we put everyone in gas masks and lock them up at home, forbidding them even to go to the store, like in China?! It is necessary now, today, to think over a strategy, ”the doctor believes.

“ARI caused by the Omicron strain has swept the world and cannot be stopped by the measures that most governments are accustomed to resorting to. No matter how the fight against the “omicron” turned out to be worse than the “omicron” itself, the TV presenter concluded.

Earlier, Myasnikov said that Covid-19 cannot be qualified as a new disease. He also dispelled the most common myth among Russians about immunity. In addition, he criticized the Russians for allegedly ruining medicine with their concern for health.
