The Synodal Liturgical Commission of the Petrozavodsk and Karelian Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church has approved prayer singing for those obsessed with computer passion. This was reported in the press service of the diocese.

There are also separate prayer chants in case of passing exams or looking for a job, as well as before starting studies in institutions for adults.

Special prayers have also been submitted for consideration by the Holy Synod, intended for use as part of a thanksgiving prayer service on the occasion of: graduation from school; completion of studies at a higher educational institution and a successful surgical operation.

In a commentary for the Sekret Firmy publication, Vakhtang Kipshidze, head of the synodal department for relations between the Church, society and the media, explained that the problem of addiction to computer games is not denied in the world. “Everyone is well aware that the obsession with computer games as a negative phenomenon does not raise any doubts. Overcoming any addiction: drug, alcohol or any other that exists in today’s society requires spiritual efforts. Including prayer support for those who consider themselves believers. And the presence of prayer for people with such an addiction is not superfluous at all, ”Kipshidze explained.
