The first half of January always flies by. The New Year holidays are behind us, for which, we hope, you managed to relax. The frosts have receded, and now it has become a little warmer and more comfortable outside. However, the epidemiological situation is heating up again, so do not forget about personal protective measures. Good morning happens: breakfast festival in St. Petersburg BreakFest
If by some miracle you didn’t eat enough on New Year’s holidays, we invite you to participate in the breakfast festival.
Holidays in our country are not only about eating delicious food at a large table, but also preparing this entire table for several days first. If you, too, are tired of cooking over the past weeks, the BreakFest festival is a great occasion to please yourself.
This is a traditional and beloved gastronomic festival. This year more than twenty St. Petersburg restaurants will take part in it. No wonder St. Petersburg is considered the gastronomic capital of Russia!
At the festival, you have the opportunity to taste many breakfasts to your liking: dairy breakfasts, egg breakfasts, cereals, special desserts. Tastings are also waiting for you, where you can choose your personal TOP-4 and make a list of your favorite places for delicious breakfasts.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Therefore, do not neglect the opportunity to have a tasty and healthy meal at the beginning of the day!
The festival will run throughout January. You can see the list of restaurants and vote for your favorite dish here.
Harry Potter and the Symphonic Christmas

For some reason, a series of films about Harry Potter, many are inextricably linked with the celebration of the New Year. Despite the fact that the plot is completely different, nevertheless, the magical world created by Joan Roaling reminds us of a fairy tale that always lives somewhere nearby.
On Sunday, January 16, all fans of the Harry Potter cinematic universe have the opportunity to plunge into this magical world. Musicians of the Moscow Conservatory will perform their favorite melodies at the U Finlyandsky Concert Hall. The music for the Harry Potter films was written by composer John Williams, and now you have a chance to hear it live!
The Sonorus Chamber Orchestra will fill the concert hall with real magic outside of Hogwarts. Strings, woodwinds and brass instruments within the walls of a large concert hall will plunge you into this magical world. The concert will appeal to both adults and children.
Check the rules for visiting the concert hall on the official website.
Exhibition “Light of Christmas”

Yes, the New Year holidays are over, but I really don’t want to say goodbye to this magical atmosphere. “And don’t,” the organizers of the Light of Christmas exhibition would tell us.
Until February 20, the Museum of Music hosts an exhibition of set designer, graphic artist and painter Marina Azizyan. Every year she holds her amazing Christmas exhibitions, where you can see new works from both the artist herself and her colleagues.
Marina Azizyan has been holding Christmas exhibitions for over 20 years. The main feature of these exhibitions is the lack of rules and standards. The authors have no restrictions in terms of technique, style or genre: the main thing is that the work should carry a bright mood corresponding to the Christmas holiday.
This year, guests can see drawings, paintings, sculptures, ceramics, papier-mâché items, embroidery and more. Check the official website of the Museum of Music for details.
Art Market on Elagin Island

Most of the New Year and Christmas markets have already closed until next year. However, if you didn’t have time to visit them in the cold, we suggest you jump into the last car.
On Yelagin, the art market still continues to work, where they will sell author’s works, souvenirs and gifts. The stalls of the art market on Yelagin Island are fabulous huts, decorated with spruce branches and multi-colored lights. Here, the workshops and hand-made studios of St. Petersburg offer everything that is so necessary for the atmosphere of a real holiday.
Even if you don’t plan to buy anything, it’s just nice to walk along the malls in the winter park. There will also be festive treats at the fair: New Year’s desserts and hot drinks. The art market on the square near the Konyushenny building will continue its work until the end of January.
Do not forget that in addition to the fair on Yelagin Island there are large and beautiful ice rinks. And in general, what could be more beautiful than walking around the winter island!
