TASS: A safety violation could lead to the fall of the elevator at the President Hotel in Moscow

Violation of safety regulations, according to preliminary data, could lead to the fall of the elevator in the “President Hotel” on Bolshaya Yakimanka in Moscow. A source told TASS about the possible cause of the incident, which killed two people.

The interlocutor of the agency specified that there were no more people in the cabin. Law enforcement agencies are currently on the scene. The elevator was intended for personnel, the workers died.

The source explained that they were replacing the elevator: one man was inside the cabin, the second was on top.

A RIA Novosti source confirmed that the reason was a violation of the rules for carrying out repair work. According to him, a criminal case has been initiated under the article on the provision of services that do not meet safety requirements.

In turn, the 112 Telegram channel clarified that the victims were Armenian citizens: 32-year-old Khaik Khazaryan and 31-year-old Artak Bezoyan, Lenta.ru reports.

Recall that tonight it became known that two workers died in the President Hotel on Bolshaya Yakimanka in Moscow when an elevator fell from the seventh floor. One of the victims was in the elevator, and the second was between the cabin and the wall.

The capital’s Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations confirmed the fall of the elevator and the death of workers. Meanwhile, the Moscow prosecutor’s office is checking what happened.

The first photos from the scene also appeared on the Web. The 360 ​​TV channel also broadcasts live from the President Hotel.
