Prohibition of leaving the country for two prosecuted for the complaint of rape that the model Naomi Arcentales presented in life

The Prosecutor’s Office initiated criminal proceedings against two involved. Before his death, young man denounced three businessmen for sexual abuse.

Periodic presentation before the authorities and the prohibition to leave the country ordered the judge of the case in the hearing in which a criminal proceeding was opened for two involved in the rape complaint filed by the model Naomi Arcentales.

She was found lifeless, in Manta, Manabí, on December 12, 2021, in the apartment where she lived with her then-partner, prosecutor Juan Carlos Izquierdo, who was suspended while the model’s death is investigated. For this last case there is another process in progress.

In life, the model had filed a complaint for rape against three people, who, it was known, were businessmen residing in Quevedo, Los Ríos, but who had been at a party when the crime that the young woman denounced occurred.

She had even given her testimony in advance days before she was found dead in the apartment of her then-partner, in Manta.

The violation would have been recorded on August 20, 2021 in a condominium building adjacent to the property where she was found dead on December 12 last.

The State Attorney General’s Office published on its Twitter account that the entity initiated criminal proceedings against two people for the alleged crime of rape committed against the model.

The prohibition to leave the country and the periodic presentation before the authority ordered by the judge, on the afternoon of this January 13, were precautionary measures to, according to the Prosecutor’s Office, “ensure the presence of those involved in the following stages of the process.”

According to the investigations, the complainant would have attended a party at the invitation of a friend and would have been sexually assaulted by Javier C. and Sixto M., people whom she did not previously know, but whom she identified as the aggressors in her testimony. , exposed the Prosecutor’s Office, in a statement, on the night of this Thursday, January 13.

In the letter, the entity indicated after receiving Naomi’s complaint, the Prosecutor’s Office applied the established protocols and ordered the practice of various procedures, among them, the medical evaluation of the victim and the respective gynecological and toxicological examinations.

To support the accusation against the two defendants, the prosecutor who is handling this case, of a sexual nature, presented the anticipated testimony of the victim, the legal medical examination report, the result of the forensic biology expertise and the psychological examination that Naomi was practiced.

The investigation report, the recognition of the scene of the events, and the versions of several people, as well as other elements of conviction, were also presented, the Prosecutor’s Office said in the statement.

Those involved, Javier C. and Sixto M., were prosecuted as alleged direct perpetrators of the crime of rape, in accordance with the provisions of the Organic Comprehensive Criminal Code (COIP), which sanctions 19 to 22 years in prison for the responsible. (I)
