A new assault on a clothing store in the center of Esmeraldas adds to the criminal acts that have been recorded in recent days.

Six proposals for the security of the city of Esmeraldas were presented by residents and merchants of the Cordero Crespo neighborhood and other sectors, after the march for peace that took place on the afternoon of this Wednesday, January 12.
They propose that through the Government of Esmeraldas the Executive be required to provide equipment and logistics for the National Police, as well as enable the Police Community Units (UPC); that the Prosecutor’s Office and Judiciary deliver a report on how many cases in flagrante delicto and convictions were issued in 2021.
They also want a polygraph test and oversight of judges and prosecutors, in addition to joint operations with the ECU911, the National Police and agents of the EP Esvial for compliance with the provision that a single person travels on a motorcycle. from 19:00.

Another of the orders is the maintenance and installation of video surveillance cameras for the ECU911.
Likewise, they request that the assembly members review or propose changes to the articles of the Comprehensive Organic Criminal Code (COIP), said Jean Pierre Izaguirre, coordinator of the mobilization.

Alleged shoplifters arrested
