The effects of canceled flights in Ecuador include routes between Quito and Guayaquil, Guayaquil-Quito, Quito-Cuenca, Manta-Quito, Cuenca-Quito, among others.
From Monday 10 to January 23, Latam Ecuador will cancel 48 flights due to omicron infections detected in its crew, which prevents it from maintaining all its normal operations.
The effects of canceled flights in Ecuador include routes between Quito and Guayaquil, Guayaquil-Quito, Quito-Cuenca, Manta-Quito, Cuenca-Quito, among others.
“We are presenting some cancellations due to the increase in omicron cases reported out of flight of some members of our crew, unfortunately limiting the roles of our personnel,” the company said.
The airline indicated that due to this situation for the following days of January it will cancel between 5% and 10% of its operation.
Given the cancellation of flights, Latam reported that it is managing the most appropriate protections, “seeking the least degree of impact for its passengers.”
The company stated that it has provided commercial flexibilities for exchange or return, which can be consulted at flight status at Latam.com.
The first flight of the Equair airline covered the Quito-Guayaquil route
“As Latam Airlines Ecuador we regret this situation, beyond our control, and we ask for understanding for this fact. At the same time, we recommend that our passengers, before heading to the airport, review their travel itineraries on our official platforms,” he said.
The airline reported that this contingency has generated an unusual number of calls to its contact systems, for which it recommended that its passengers favor self-service on their digital channels (web, WhatsApp and social networks). (I)
