Australian TV presenters, thinking that they can not be heard, scolded Djokovic live (video)

Australian TV presenters Rebecca Maddern and Mike Amor scolded Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic live on 7News. The recording spread across social networks.

So, Maddern called the athlete “a lying bastard.” Her co-host, Mike Amor, supported her in this judgment.

They also said that the majority of Australia’s residents are of the same opinion.

The presenters themselves believed that they were not on the air, but instead of advertising, it was their words that reached the viewers. As Life notes, Rebecca Maddern started working on the channel only a week ago.

Managing director of the TV channel Lewis Martin later said that the presenter had apologized for her remarks, and the channel’s management was conducting an investigation into the fact of a leak to the “private conversation” network, Bisiness Insider reported.

“Recording this conversation and distributing it is illegal,” Martin said.

Recall that in early January, Djokovic was detained at Melbourne airport, where he arrived to participate in the first Grand Slam tournament of this season’s Australian Open. Representatives of the Serbian athlete’s team have requested a type of Australian visa that is not issued to holders of a medical exemption for COVID-19 vaccination.

On January 10, an Australian federal court in Melbourne upheld an appeal by Djokovic, who challenged the cancellation of his visa and a deportation decision made by the country’s border guard.
