The Police are investigating whether whoever was going to carry out the crime was involved in other murders registered in Guayaquil and Durán.
In the north of the Duran canton, in the Maldonado citadel, three people were arrested on Monday afternoon who are presumed to assassinate a resident.
The three suspects were in a yellow cab; they were two men and one woman. One was driving and behind were a Venezuelan citizen and Melany, a minor under 17 years old. They pretended to be a couple and walk around the area.
When the police arrived, they searched them and found them a Taurus firearm with 7 bullets. In the wallet the teenager was carrying, 20 more ammunition was found.
The taxi was owned by the driver, said Major Jorge Hadaty, Durán’s police chief, who added that, according to the first investigations, the suspects were going to kill a citizen who lives in the sector.
The police presume that the foreigner was going to execute the shots and are investigating his participation in other violent deaths in Durán and Guayaquil.
The target of this crime told the police that he had no problems with anyone, that he had not been threatened, but admitted that for days he had seen suspicious cars in his sector. (I)
