Who is Jesús Baldeón, Sunafil’s new boss?

After announcing the resignation of the head of the National Superintendency of Labor Inspection (Sunafil), Juan Requejo Alemán this Monday, January 10, 2022, the President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo reported new changes around the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion (MTPE). One of these is the incorporation of Jesus Baldeón as the new holder of the Sunafil.

Jesus Adalberto Baldeón Vasquez He has been chosen for whom to spearhead the objective of reducing informality and passing 500,000 workers to electronic payroll by 2022, announced by his predecessor.

Jesus Adalberto Baldeón Vasquez is a lawyer and economist specializing in public procurement, government control, and international affairs.

According to the information on the MTPE website, he has a degree in Law from the Technological University of Peru and in Economics from the Inca Garcilaso de la Vega University.

Likewise, Baldeón Vásquez has experience in the public sector, in formulation, advice, management, monitoring and evaluation in matters of public procurement and cooperation and international affairs with national and foreign institutions, organizations (UN, ILO, IOM, OISS, IDB, BM, USDOL and AECID).

During the period 2014-2015 he was director of the Office of Legal Advice of the Metropolitan System of Solidarity (SISOL) of the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima. After 2015, he joined the MTPE as an advisor to the ministerial office.

On the other hand, he was representative of the sector before different commissions (Binational Cabinets with Ecuador, Chile, Colombia and Bolivia), social work groups (Work Group that provides support to the Presidency of the ILO Board of Directors in Geneva – Switzerland) and boards of directors (SENATI). He has a Master’s degree in Public Procurement at the University of Castilla – La Mancha (Spain).
