In Quito, a 60-year-old woman was stabbed five times in an attempted robbery

Two men were captured around the Chaquiñán de Cumbayá park in Quito after stabbing a 60-year-old woman who resisted the theft of her cell phone.

It happened on the afternoon of Saturday, January 8, according to police information.

“It is known that the person was walking through the Chaquiñán sector. There she was intercepted by two male persons, who tried to steal her belongings, including her purse and her cell phone. When they see that she is resisting, these people use violence and proceed to stab her with a knife, ”confirmed Police Lieutenant Diego Quiroga, commander of the Tumbaco district.

After attacking the woman, the thieves fled, however, the police carried out an operation and found them when they were fleeing in a bus from the Pifo cooperative.

In their possession the uniformed men found the knife with which they would have wounded the victim. Both were transferred to a Quito Flagrancy Unit and then they were presented at a press conference. They both have a robbery record.

The victim, who received back injuries, was taken in an ambulance to a medical home, where he is recovering.

This weekend, in the northwest of Guayaquil, a woman also suffered a violent assault when two men on motorcycles approached her. She was carrying a wallet on her arm and turned away when she saw the criminals.

One of them got off the motorcycle and threatened her with a knife. The subject brought the knife close to the woman several times to scare her and after several seconds took her wallet and they left.

The event was recorded in the security camera of a home. In the film it is seen how the woman, almost out of breath, asks the neighbors for help when the thieves move away. (I)
