“Eyes and ears feel behind them”: Ryabkov announced Russia’s desire to test the US’s ability to make responsible decisions

In the course of negotiations with the United States on security guarantees, Russia intends to test Washington’s ability to make responsible decisions at a difficult moment. This was stated in an interview with RIA Novosti by the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergei Ryabkov.

In his opinion, it is difficult for the United States to conduct a dialogue with Russia on a bilateral basis, “because they feel behind them the eyes and ears of the most anti-Russian group in NATO.”

“We (RF – ed.) Would like, first of all, to come to an agreement with the United States and check to what extent they are able to make responsible decisions at the current difficult, if not alarming, moment from the point of view of European security,” the deputy minister stressed.

He previously held preliminary consultations in Geneva with US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman. “Awesome. The conversation was difficult, but businesslike, “RBC quotes Ryabkov.

Recall that Russia and the United States will hold consultations in Geneva on January 9-10 on Moscow’s proposals on security guarantees, followed by a meeting of the Russia-NATO Council in Brussels, and consultations at the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe in Vienna.
