The doctor told how distance learning is dangerous for children

During the pandemic, doctors noted an increase in the number of children with muscle back pain. The reason for this was distance learning, said Professor Sergei Kolesov, head of the spinal pathology department at the Priorov Central Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics.

According to RIA Novosti, the physician emphasized that with remote teaching, the child moves less, as a result of which he has a muscle imbalance. “Children are sitting, muscles are not developing,” Kolesov emphasized.

He explained that “you need to move, then there will be no such problems”, and advised to do the basic set of physical exercises – push-ups, squats, bends, pull-ups to keep the muscles in good shape. At the same time, the doctor added that at present “there are practically no people left who do not have problems with posture.” However, if the problem is minor, then it can be solved with the help of gymnastics, and the true curvature of the spine requires professional treatment.
