Eleven people were poisoned by chlorine vapors in the pool of the bath complex, which is located in one of the Bashkir villages. All victims were hospitalized and are being examined.
“The incident took place in the village of Yasnaya Polyana, Iglinsky District,” reports the republican Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergencies of the Russian Federation. – An operational group of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia and the laboratory of the chemical and radiometric center were sent to the place of the emergency.
According to preliminary data, reported by local media, the poisoning in the pool was associated with an overdose of chlorine.
Bashkiria is not the only constituent entity of the Russian Federation where chlorine poisoning is registered on holidays. A similar incident is reported by Novosibirsk, where six adults and three children were hospitalized, and Omsk, where nine children of different ages and an adult, who visited one of the city saunas, suffered from chlorine poisoning. A criminal case has been initiated on the fact of the state of emergency, and the prosecutor’s office of the Kirovsky district of Omsk is also conducting its check.
