“It was established that on the night of January 8, 2022, a local resident fired shots at a UAZ police car, which was near the police station, from a rifled gun. As a result, one police officer died on the spot, another one was injured, ”the report says.
As specified in the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Kurgan Region, a criminal case was initiated against the 44-year-old resident of the village of Mishkino on the fact of encroachment on the life of a law enforcement officer (Article 317 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
The press service of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs said that police sergeant Denis Mikhalev, born in 1995, had died. The wounded junior police sergeant was hospitalized.
The attacker turned out to be a local resident with a criminal record. The head of the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Kurgan region, Dmitry Svinov, drove to the scene.
