Tengrinews.kz: Kazakhstan introduced “critical red” level of terrorist threat

A “critical red” level of terrorist threat was introduced on the territory of Kazakhstan. This is reported by the local portal Tengrinews.kz in Telegram.

“A critical red level of terrorist danger has been introduced throughout Kazakhstan,” the message says.

With the “red” level of terrorist danger, the special services are allowed to carry out personal searches and searches of things, vehicles, temporarily restrict or prohibit their movement, and freely enter residential and other premises. Control over the information transmitted through the channels of telecommunication systems can be established. Full mobilization and combat readiness of all forces of the special services, strengthening of regime measures are envisaged.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan confirmed the data on 26 killed and 18 wounded armed criminals, RIA Novosti reports. According to the agency, gunfire is heard in the central square of Almaty.

Earlier, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Kazakhstan announced the initiation of criminal cases on riots, as well as on the commission of acts of terrorism. The perpetrators face imprisonment for a term up to life with deprivation of citizenship.

Protests in Kazakhstan began after the New Year over the rise in the price of liquefied gas. Clashes began. The government resigned, while the CSTO Collective Security Council decided to send a collective peacekeeping force to Kazakhstan at the request of the president of the republic. They began to transfer paratroopers from Russia there.
