Civil Registry extends validity of expired certificates until March 2022

According to the agency, it is a contribution to social distancing and to support the measures of the national Emergency Operations Committee (COE).

The Civil Registry extended the validity of identity cards that have expired or are about to expire, until March 31, 2022.

The argument is to contribute to social distancing and support the measures established by the national Emergency Operations Committee (COE).

Fernando Alvear, director general of Civil registration, indicated that it has reduced presence of staff to 50% and shifts have been lowered to that same percentage.

Alvear added that the administrative resolution has been referred to both the Superintendency of Banks as well as to that of Companies and other entities where the extension of the validity of that identity document is made known.

With this, he explained, people will be able to use the ID expired to carry out any procedure is public or private. (I)
