The participation of Russian forces in the framework of the peacekeeping operation in Kazakhstan may lead to a break in relations between the peoples of the two countries. This is stated in the statement of the Civil Initiative party on the protests in Kazakhstan published on the Telegram channel of Andrey Nechaev.
“In the absence of external aggression, there are no legal grounds for military intervention by Russia and other CSTO members in the situation in Kazakhstan. The participation of the Russian military in the suppression of popular protests will only lead to the rupture of centuries-old friendly relations between the two peoples, the exacerbation of the already tense relations between Russia and the democratic countries, a sharp complication of the situation of the Russian-speaking population of Kazakhstan, ”the report says.
The party believes that the reason for the protests lies in the difficult social situation of citizens and the lack of a satisfactory future for the active part of the country’s youth.
“The clannishness and de facto irremovability of power, suppression of the opposition deprived the citizens of the country of the opportunity to influence the policy of the state with the help of legal democratic mechanisms. The authorities of Kazakhstan refuse from the democratic transformation of the current political system. We are convinced that the current corrupt political regime of the country is to blame for the current situation, ”the text says.
The party called on the Russian authorities not to interfere by force in the internal affairs of Kazakhstan, but to make diplomatic and humanitarian efforts to peacefully resolve the situation in the union state.
