Abbas Gallyamov: Tokayev may try to get rid of Nazarbayev

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhamart Tokayev may try to take advantage of the situation in order to get rid of “the tutelage of the annoying old man Nazarbayev and finally become a full-fledged president.” Political analyst Abbas Gallyamov wrote about this on his Facebook page.

“Theoretically, this is possible, in any case in Romania, the main fruits of the popular uprising against Ceausescu went to the second or third echelon of members of the ruling Communist Party,” Galliamov writes.

In his opinion, “Elbasy’s silence is becoming completely indecent”, as if what is happening does not concern him. The expert believes that the public may perceive this “as fear, or as arrogance,” which is definitely not beneficial to the actual leader of the country.

“However, the most interesting thing is that no one, in my opinion, expects anything from Nazarbayev. No statements, no action. I could not find any demand for information about his position on the situation in the country … – states Abbas Gallyamov. – I remember the anecdote about a lover, in horror, climbed under the bed when her husband appeared, and a baby crawled up to him: “One hundred, don’t you get tired? And how he dysal, how he dysal! “

Protests in Kazakhstan began on January 3. The reason was the increase in prices for liquefied gas. Despite the fact that this decree has already been canceled and the government has been dismissed, the anti-government actions continued. In a number of regions, a state of emergency was declared until January 19.
