Extensive lines were registered on the morning of this Monday, January 3, outside the municipality of Loja.
Hundreds of citizens came to pay the value of property taxes on this first business day of the year.
Some of the taxpayers complained about what they considered “slowness” in serving citizens. “Here we can easily get infected or get sick (from COVID-19),” said one of the attendees as he was part of a long line that also had no distance control.
The Municipality of Lojano announced a 10% discount to those who pay between January 3 and 15; 9% to those who pay the value between January 16 and 31; 8%, from February 1 to 15; and 7%, between February 16 and 28. Thus, the discount will continue to decrease successively until June 30 with 1%. From July 1, 2022, surcharges will be charged.
This morning, several citizens indicated that the page of the municipality presented problems before the consultation of values for the property tax. In turn, other users stated that in some cases the value of the property tax has risen and in another it decreased compared to previous years.
Despite the fact that the Municipality enabled electronic channels in banks and other payment places in the city, in the first hours of the day the agglomeration of people remained. (I)
