In Russia, over the past day, 16 thousand 343 new cases of coronavirus infection COVID-19 were detected in 85 regions of the country, follows from the data of the operational headquarters.
Most of all new cases were detected in St. Petersburg (1.341 thousand), Moscow (1.335 thousand) and the Moscow region (1.180 thousand).
Thus, the data on new infections were at a minimum since June 17 of this year.
“On an accrual basis, 10 million 554 thousand 309 cases (plus 0.16%) of coronavirus infection were registered in 85 regions,” the headquarters said in a statement.
At the same time, 835 deaths have been confirmed over the past day, and over the entire period in Russia, 311,353 people have died from coronavirus.
Thus, over the past day, the main indicators showed multidirectional dynamics: the day before, 18,233 new cases of COVID-19 were detected (decrease in the indicator), and the number of deaths increased – from 811 patients by January 2 (a day earlier 847 after 912 cases to Dec. 31).
We add that, according to Rospotrebnadzor, since the beginning of the epidemic, more than 241.5 million laboratory tests have been carried out for a new type of coronavirus infection, including 168 thousand in the last day. 1 million 180 thousand 567 people remain under medical supervision.
