The telephone conversation between the Presidents of the United States and Ukraine, Joe Biden and Volodymyr Zelensky, will take place on Sunday, January 2, after 23:00 Moscow time. The details of the upcoming conversation were revealed by the press secretary of the Ukrainian leader Sergei Nikiforov on his Facebook page.
“Presidents Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Joe Biden will hold a telephone conversation after 22:00 Kiev time (23:00 Moscow time),” Nikiforov wrote.
Zelenskiy previously confirmed that he plans to speak with Biden on January 2. According to him, during the conversation they will have to coordinate steps for the sake of peace in Ukraine and security in Europe.
Prior to this, Reuters, citing a White House representative, said that Biden intends to hold a telephone conversation with the head of Ukraine on January 2. According to the American official, the head of the United States will discuss with Zelensky the buildup of Russia’s military presence near the borders of Ukraine, preparation for upcoming contacts via diplomatic lines in order to facilitate the de-escalation of the situation in the region, and also in the conversation will confirm support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
