Four vehicles were involved in an accident that occurred on the night of last Friday, December 31, around 10:00 p.m., in the Babahoyo bypass, in Los Ríos. This event caused the death of one person and caused injuries to four people.
After the spectacular accident, several citizens gathered around the affected cars. Meanwhile, the ECU911 service coordinated the transfer of emergency teams.
Personnel from the Ecuadorian Traffic Commission, Babahoyo Firefighters and the Ministry of Health offered first aid to those affected at the emergency site.
The mortal victim was driving in a black car-type vehicle, according to Municipal Traffic agents.
As Gustavo Jiménez, the mortal victim of this traffic accident was identified, which also left three minors and an adult injured, who are recovering at the Martín Icaza hospital in the town.
Agents from the Traffic Accident Investigation Office (OIAT) took the victim’s lifeless body to the morgue to later initiate investigations and determine responsibilities in the road accident.
For now, the whereabouts of the drivers of the other three cars are unknown.
