Quito registered 7,349 emergencies on the first day of the New Year holiday, according to the ECU911 report

The municipal authorities withdrew 2,919 prohibited products for sale, including pyrotechnics

The Integrated Security Service ECU911 issued a preliminary report from 00:00 on December 31 until 10:00 on this January 1, 2022. In Quito, the emergency center registered, during this first holiday, 8,204 alerts, 246 agglomerations, 1,148 libadores, 920 public scandals, 7,349 emergencies and 261 cases of domestic violence.

At the national level they reported 78,589 alerts, 34,196 emergencies, 732 agglomerations, 515 parties, 4,887 libadores, 2,766 public scandals and 1,226 acts of domestic violence.

According to information provided by the Security Secretary Quito 122 libators were withdrawn by their agents. They also recorded five public scandals and 30 crowd-sourced deterrents.

A total of 2,919 products withheld by National and Municipal Police officers they stopped the operations carried out in the capital on December 31. What’s more, 3,080 street vendors were withdrawn for not having the permits to carry out commerce in public spaces.

Municipal authorities also reported 92 traffic citations, this in a total of 481 registered vehicles.

For the moment they did not deliver a report of injuries and deaths on the first day off.

From the Security Secretariat they assured that they will continue with inter-institutional operations in order to avoid acts of violence and Covid-19 infections. The Monday, January 3, they will hold a press conference with the analysis of this holiday. (I)
