Russian employee of the UN Mission declared persona non grata in Kosovo

At the suggestion of the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic Donika Gervalaya made a decision to declare the Russian UNMIK employee in Kosovo persona non grata “because of his harmful influence, which violated national security.”

“I have notified the competent authorities about the implementation of this decision. The structures of the Republic of Kosovo remain committed to the fight against the negative influence of the Russian Federation and its satellites in the region, whose purpose is to undermine the achievements of Kosovo and our partners, primarily the United States, NATO and the EU, ”the minister wrote on Facebook, without revealing the name of the Russian.

The declaration by the Kosovo Albanian authorities in Pristina persona non grata of an employee of the UN mission (UNMIK, UNMIK) from the Russian Federation is a provocation, the Russian Embassy in Serbia said.

Earlier, on October 22, the president of unrecognized Kosovo, Viosa Osmani, declared persona non grata two Russian diplomats from the Office of the Russian Embassy in Serbia in Pristina. According to Osmani, the activities of Russian diplomats allegedly “negatively affected the national security and constitutional order” of the self-proclaimed state.
