The Financial Times described two scenarios of Russia’s “invasion” of Ukraine

Dara Massiko, senior policy researcher at the Rand Corporation, described two main scenarios for a Russian attack on Ukraine.

According to the Financial Times, she said the Russian Federation could launch airstrikes or launch a full-scale invasion.

According to the expert, Moscow possesses a large number of cruise and ballistic missiles that can be launched either from the Black Sea or from Russian territory, and the air defense system of Ukraine “will fight to cope.” Russia can also use air-launched missiles, heavy artillery and long-range flamethrowers, she believes. With air attacks, the Russian side can wreak havoc on the front lines, military installations and critical infrastructure.

Earlier, the German newspaper Bild published a map of Russia’s possible “invasion” of Ukraine, which supposedly should be expected in early 2022. It clarifies that two scenarios are being considered: a simultaneous attack from several fronts or an attack in several stages. The authors of the article argue that Russia will eventually “capture” about two-thirds of Ukraine’s territory.
