On January 1, the Supreme Pontiff will preside over the solemnity of Mary Most Holy Mother of God.

2022 is soon to come and although it has already done so in some parts of the world, preparations are still being made in others. In Vatican City, Pope Francis will preside on the first vespers of the Solemnity of Mary Most Holy Mother of God.

Due to the restriction of capacity, several Catholic faithful see this as an opportunity to follow these celebrations that will be transmitted via streaming.

At 11:00 (Ecuador time), Pope Francis will celebrate the first vespers of the Solemnity of Mary Most Holy Mother of God and then there will be the exposition of the Blessed Sacrament as well as the hymn Te Deum at the end of the calendar year and the Eucharist. Finally a blessing will be given, according to the Holy See.

The bishops, cardinals, archbishops, among others, began to arrive at 10:30 to take their assigned place.

These events will take place in St. Peter’s Basilica.

For January 1, 2022, Pope Francis is scheduled to perform the Holy Mass of the Solemnity of Mary Most Holy Mother of God on the Octave of Christmas at 04:00 (Ecuador time). (I)
